SUMMARY:Keep the Beat - Free CPR Training
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a day of free CPR\, AED\, and First Aid training!\n\n\n\nEach year\, more than 350\,000 out-of-hospital cardiac arrests instances occur in the United States - a leading cause of death. Per the AED Challenge\, "Survival from out-of-hospital cardiac arrest in the United States is less than ten percent on average. One reason why cardiac arrest survival rates are so low is that few bystanders do CPR." A victim's chances of survival fall dramatically after a few minutes without CPR. A recent American Heart Association statement called for an increase in bystander CPR training among communities. Keep the Beat will enable our organization to encourage broader participation and a regional effort to be prepared and act in emergency situations.\n\n\n\nKeep the Beat strives to increase the number of citizens throughout the community properly trained to recognize and provide initial care for a variety of emergencies.\n\n\n\nThis training will provide attendees with life-saving knowledge to help stabilize situations to allow emergency medical professionals to arrive.\n\n\n\nFamily-oriented training sessions are taught by local volunteers from Panhandle Health District\, the Medical Reserve Corp \, and your local fire departments as well as CPR Central (a locally owned CPR training facility)\n\n\n\nFirst 300 people to complete training will receive a swag bag with the opportunity to randomly receive gift cards valued up to $100!\n\n\n\nTwo session options are available:\n\n\n\nShort sessions (hands-only CPR) last 30 minutes and occurs from 4-7 pm at the Silver Lake Mall Common Area in Coeur d'Alene and Cabela's in Post Falls. No registration is required.\n\n\n\nLong sessions (American Safety & Health Institute's CPR\, AED\, and First Aid course) last 4 hours.\n\nClasses start at 8:00 am\, 1:00 pm and 6:00 pm.
