Two years ago, many of you had the privilege of seeing Kevin Cole In Coeur d'Alene for his Gershwin concert. I am delighted to announce that he will be back again this year for 1 night only featuring songs from George Gershwin (including Gershwin's own arrangement of Rhapsody in Blue), Marvin Hamlisch and other great American songwriters. He will also be sharing personal stories of these great artists.
Cole stands as the best Gershwin pianist in America today,” Howard Reich, arts critic for the Chicago Tribune.
Engagements for Cole include: sold-out performances with the Los Angeles Philharmonic at the Hollywood Bowl; BBC Concert Orchestra at Royal Albert Hall; National Symphony at the Kennedy Center; Hong Kong Philharmonic; San Francisco Symphony, Chicago Symphony, Philadelphia Orchestra, Philharmonia Orchestra (London); Boston Philharmonic, Adelaide Symphony Orchestra (Australia) Minnesota Orchestra, Pittsburgh Symphony, Dallas Symphony, Seattle Symphony
He has shared the concert stage with Liza Minnelli, Aretha Franklin, Barbra Streisand and Idina Menzel.
Cole was mentored by his friend Marvin Hamlisch and was vocally trained by Hugh Martin-who also trained Judy Garland, Lena Horne and Ethel Waters.
This magical night of vocal and piano performance is co-produced by Laura Little Theatricals and Coeur d'Alene Summer Theatre and all proceeds will go to Coeur d'Alene Summer Theatre.
