About Us

Our Story

Founded in March of 2009, Ds Connections Nw was started by two mothers who believed in the simple purpose of keeping their children, their families and their friends connected through the love of their children diagnosed with Down syndrome. Two years later we incorporated as a 501(c)3 non-profit organization and our scope grew to become a strong, viable connection of resources and information for persons with Down syndrome, their families and our surrounding community.

Today, our organization serves hundreds of families, individuals and the professionals who support them. Centrally located in the Spokane and Coeur d’Alene area with our outreach stretching north to Sandpoint and Boundary county, and south to the Quad city area of Pullman, Moscow, Lewiston and Clarkston.

We are excited about this opportunity to connect and share resources, services, and knowledge that exist in all of our local communities. Above all, it is a joy and privilege to come together to share relationship and resources as friends, family, community members, and neighbors in a shared common bond of Down syndrome.

Our Mission

Ds Connections NW strives to be a network of support, information, resources and relationships to enhance, and improve the quality of life of persons with Down syndrome, their families, and their communities. We provide social and educational opportunities, access to resources and networking with key members of our professional, educational and medical communities to achieve these objectives.
